Kyle Messer

The Tulsa Jr. Oilers defeated the Texas Jr. Brahmas 5-4 Friday night at Oilers Ice Center. One of the big contributors was Kyle Messer. Kyle scored two goals and added an assist in the victory.

Brandon Harris assisted on two of the Messer goals and also put up a helper on Brayton Van Gotum’s third period tally. New Jr. Oilers forward Nate Nelson and local favorite Bobby Watson also added goals to the home team.

“The crowd was electric, and it was great to get our first win in front of the home fans,” commented Jr. Oilers head coach Zac Desjardins. “I could not be prouder of the team. It was great to see how they reacted to the new guys as well, total team effort in win.”

Chris James

Jr. Oilers goaltender Chris James made 47 saves and was tested in every period. “Chris was solid all night in between the pipes for us,” added Desjardins “Very proud of this hockey team”
