Oilers News & Notes
by Mike Iles
The Tulsa Junior Oilers are travelling to Las Vegas for the the annual WSHL Western States Shootout. Their games are Saturday at 5:30pm against Utah, Sunday at 2:45pm against Cheyenne, Monday at 2:30pm against San Diego, and Tuesday at 12:30pm against the Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League Rep Team. All games can be seen on WSHLStats.com and clicking on the WSHL TV link. All times listed are Central Time.
There has been some player movement on the team as of late. Forward Jiri Trubacik was dealt to Cheyenne to complete the trade in which Tulsa received Justin Arnold. Forward Luke Novack was traded to Oklahoma City in exchange for defenseman Kamil Rypar, who brings added toughness and grit to the Tulsa blueline. Tulsa will be without Jesse Clark for the remainder of the season due to a season ending injury he suffered a few weeks ago. Jesse had been staying with the team and assisting head coach Marty Magers, but has since returned home.
The next Junior Oilers homestand is January 6th, 7th, and 8th. All 3 games will be played at Oilers Ice Center. Have a great holiday from all of us at the Tulsa Junior Oilers.
